The project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($22.75 million) and the New South Wales Government ($22.75 million). Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.

Project overview
The Nyngan to Cobar Pipeline Stage 1 project will upgrade pumping infrastructure in the Nyngan to Cobar Water Supply System to provide long term water supply reliability and water security for the region.
The project will replace and upgrade Nyngan, Hermidale and Cobar storages pump stations. Nyngan Pump Station failed in 2019 and is not economically viable to repair. Hermidale Pump Station is in partial failure and Cobar Storages Pump Station is at the end of its useable life.
