The project will provide an engineering analysis of essential water infrastructure for 55 remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. It will assist in better understanding the essential services assets in these communities. It will also inform solutions to secure water supplies and availability.

The business case project will deliver 3 reports:

  • asset assessment for 25 communities
  • asset assessment for 30 communities
  • solutions, options and prioritisation.

The reports produced by this project will provide a baseline of information which will be important to support future water infrastructure construction projects for these communities. The reports will consider how new water infrastructure could:

  • support liveability and amenity measures, including adaption and resilience to climate change
  • unlock community growth and development opportunities
  • support the prioritisation of communities most in need of water infrastructure solutions.
