Project overview
The Australian Government is committed to responsible investment in water infrastructure, based on scientific evidence and business cases that stack up economically and environmentally.
The Australian Government is no longer proceeding with construction of the Fingal Irrigation Scheme. The completed detailed business case and water sales process did not identify sufficient customer demand to proceed with construction.
The $35 million previously committed to this project has been reallocated from this project, in consultation with the Tasmanian Government. This funding will continue to support the delivery of other priority water infrastructure projects in Tasmania.
