Western Irrigation Network
The Western Irrigation Network project will construct a pipeline network using high-quality recycled water from the Sunbury, Melton and Bacchus Marsh treatment plants to create a new Parwan/Balliang Irrigation Scheme.
This project will provide a new and secure recycled water supply to support viable agricultural expansion in the Parwan/Balliang region.
The $116.3 million project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($48.07 million), Victorian Government ($65.62 million) and other partners ($2.61 million).
Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund.
The project is underway.
