The project will construct a pipeline network using high-quality recycled water from the Sunbury, Melton and Bacchus Marsh treatment plants to create a new Parwan/Balliang Irrigation Scheme.

The project will provide a new and secure recycled water supply to support viable agricultural expansion in the Parwan/Balliang region.

Who's involved

The $116.3 million project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($48.1 million), Victorian Government ($65.6 million) and other partners ($2.6 million).

Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.

Project status

Construction is expected to be completed mid 2025.
