The project will upgrade an existing recycled water treatment plant by constructing a new complete filtration system, installing a UV disinfection system and refurbishing chemical systems to improve water quality and enable additional uses.
The project will provide increased access to recycled water, up to an additional 3.5 ML per day. It will also support up to 10 existing and future businesses.
Who's involved
The project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($0.5 million) and the Southern Downs Regional Council ($1.6 million).

Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
Project status
The project is currently underway. Construction is expected to be completed in mid 2023.
