The project augmented existing infrastructure to enable the growth of irrigated agriculture west of the Merbein and south of the Red Cliffs irrigation districts.
The project has provided a reliable water supply to enable further expansion of irrigation in the region, supplying water for over 2,000 hectares of new agricultural developments.
Who's involved
The $7.8 million project was jointly funded by the Australian Government ($3 million), the Victorian Government ($0.3 million) and other partners ($4.5 million).

Australian Government funding was provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
Project status
Construction was completed in October 2019.
