Sunbury-Bulla-Keilor Agricultural Rejuvenation
The project would aim to construct a transfer pipeline, pumping infrastructure and distribution pipelines to enable recycled water use in the Sunbury- Bulla-Keilor agricultural area.
The pipeline aims to unlock existing dryland, irrigated cropping and grazing land, and also provide an alternate water source for the Sunbury-Bulla-Keilor region agricultural areas.
The preliminary business case will:
- determine infrastructure requirements and design;
- undertake cost estimates and cost benefit analysis;
- develop construction timeframes; and
- undertake due diligence for planning, cultural heritage and environmental issues.
The $0.5 million project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($0.3 million), the Victorian Government and other partners ($0.3 million).
Please note figures are rounded.
Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
The project is underway, with the business case expected to be completed in mid-2023.
