The project will construct an off-stream 15GL storage dam on Record Brook near Manjimup and an approximately 250km pipeline distribution network.

The project will provide increased water security to underpin expansion of irrigated horticulture in the region.

Who's involved

The $79.4 million project is funded by the Australian Government ($39.7 million), the Western Australian Government ($17.5 million) and other partners ($22.2 million).

Australian Government Funding source

Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.

Project status

The project is currently in the planning stage. The Southern Forest Irrigation Scheme business case is currently underway.
