South West Loddon Rural Water Supply Project

Estimated Cost:

The South West Loddon Rural Water Supply Project extended the Wimmera Mallee stock and domestic pipeline in the south-west Loddon region in Victoria’s north.
The project has provided a secure, predictable rural water supply to support agriculture in the south-west Loddon region. Over 120,000 hectares of land is now connected to the pipeline and some 380 newly connected properties will no longer have to cart water in dry years.
The $89.9 million project was jointly funded by the Australian Government ($20 million), the Victorian Government ($40 million) and other partners ($29.9 million).
Australian Government funding was provided through the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund.
Construction was completed mid 2020.
