Scottsdale Irrigation Scheme
Location:
Estimated Cost:

The project delivered a new dam and a water distribution network with 92km of pipelines.
The project has built resilience to drought for northern Tasmanian producers and is supporting more higher-value irrigation agriculture and dairy. It has the potential to increase irrigation by an additional 13,000 hectares.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused delays to the installation and operation of the mini hydro power station. This work will be completed as soon as practicable.
The $57.3 million project was jointly funded by the Australian Government ($25.3 million) and the Tasmanian Government and state partners ($32 million).
Australian Government funding was provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
Construction was completed in November 2020.
