The Scottsdale Irrigation Scheme delivers a new dam, a mini hydro power station and a water distribution network with 92km of pipelines.
The project is helping build resilience to drought for northern Tasmanian producers and will allow for more higher-value irrigation agriculture and dairy. It has the potential to increase irrigation by an additional 13,000 hectares.
Who's involved
The $57.3 million project was jointly funded by the Australian Government ($25.3 million) and the Tasmanian Government and State partners ($32 million).

Australian Government funding was provided through the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund.
Project status
Construction was completed late 2020.
