The Nyngan to Cobar Pipeline - Stage 1 project will upgrade pumping infrastructure for the Cobar Water Supply System to ensure continued water security and reliability for mining and the township Cobar.

The project will replace and upgrade Nyngan, Hermidale and Cobar Storages pump stations. Nyngan Pump Station failed in 2019 and is not economically viable to repair. Hermidale Pump Station is in partial failure and Cobar Storages Pump Station is at the end of its useable life.

The Australian Government has also funded a business case for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Nyngan to Cobar Pipeline project.

Who's involved

The $46 million project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($23 million) and the New South Wales Government ($23 million).
