The project will complete the Detailed Business Case and approvals including reference design and environmental assessment report for the proposed Lakeland Irrigation Area.

The project aims to provide options to increase the volume of water available for agriculture, improve water supply reliability and support higher value and more diverse range of crops in suitable areas. The business case includes a Cultural Heritage Assessment and field works such as geotechnical, environmental and stakeholder management activities.

The $10 million project is funded by the Australian Government.
