The project will include the design and investigation of the economic feasibiity of extracting Class A treated water from the South Eastern Outflow pipeline and delivering it to Mornington Hinterland farmers, providing the potential to enhance agricultural production.

The business case will include:

  • Identification of agricultural demands for recycled water and benefits/beneficiaries, and
  • Completion of economic feasibility assessment and final report.
Who's involved

The project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($300,000) and the Victorian Government ($390,000).

Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.

Project status

The Detailed Business Case is expected to be completed in late 2021.
