The project will include the design and investigation of the economic feasibiity of extracting Class A treated water from the South Eastern Outflow pipeline and delivering it to Mornington Hinterland farmers, providing the potential to enhance agricultural production.

The business case will include:

  • Identification of agricultural demands for recycled water and benefits/beneficiaries, and
  • Completion of economic feasibility assessment and final report.
Who's involved

The $0.7 million project is jointly funded by the Australian Government ($0.3 million) and the Victorian Government ($0.4 million).

Australian Government Funding source

Australian Government funding is provided through the National Water Grid Fund.

Project status

The project is currently in the planning stage with the detailed business case expected to be completed in late 2021.
