The detailed business case will assess the merits of a proposed water security scheme in the Belubula Valley, including the proposed construction of a new Lake Rowlands Dam and transfer pipeline between Lake Rowlands Dam and Carcoar Dam.
If built, the proposed project is expected to increase the availability, reliability, efficiency and quality of water for agricultural and primary industry use in the Lachlan Valley.
The detailed business case will include:
- developing infrastructure options
- understanding service needs
- an economic, risk and cost-benefit analysis
- progressing environmental assessments.
Who's involved
The $6.8 million project is funded by the Australian Government ($2.7 million) and the New South Wales Government and other partners ($4.1 million).
